Mohammed Umar Abdulrahman Appointed Chief Executive Officer

Capital City FC has appointed Mohammed Umar Abdulrahman as its Chief Executive Officer. The appointment took effect on Sunday 5 July 2026. The role carries responsibility for the day-to-day running of the club: its operations in Abuja, the player-development pathway, and the partnerships that take Capital City FC squads and players abroad. Football leadership — coaching, selection and the direction of the squad — continues alongside it. The appointment lands at a busy point in the club's calendar. Capital City FC has spent 2026 widening its programme in Europe, sending squads to the Gothia Cup in Gothenburg and the Dana Cup in Hjørring, and placing individual players into training spells with clubs in Denmark. The club's model runs on a seven-month development cycle. It begins with trials and selection, moves through a physical and tactical foundation, tests the squad in elite local competition, and closes with international exposure followed by trials and placement negotiations. The Chief Executive role places the running of that cycle under a single executive. Capital City FC was founded to give young Nigerian players a route into the professional game. Drawing on Abuja and built for the world, the club measures itself on a simple question: how many of its players are competing at the next level, and how well they are prepared when they get there.
